EASTERN HAUTE COUTURE

The western genius chose the EAST
as the main influence to create their most difficult, laborious, and extraordinary collections:
the HAUTE COUTURE.

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli's, the names behind Valentino, took a piece of the Estern bloc, Russia, the last Tsar's family and their lost way of living, aesthetics and atmosphere. Black, white, red and golden have been the colours, sheer and opaque fabrics with shiny applications and decorations, have been the key to reflect the last Tsar's world.

Giorgio Armani's mind have been also in the East, but in the very far East. After Japan's march disaster he wanted to show how much he cares and the influence it has on him. Japanese traditional visual icons, as parasols, obiliki belts origamilike folds, orchids, cherry blossoms, lotus, kimonos... The samurai's strength combined with the fragility personified by the geishas, this collection introduces a very modern way to show all these attributes.
