This summer it is all about the feminineness but don't get too obvious it is also about the manners.

We have the opportunity to show our curves this summer. The rules to make it work:
1. no cleavage.
2. tight waist
3. narrowed skirt (the closer to the knee the better).

If there was an Icon during this period, this i have to admit was Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, known as Jackie Kennedy. Although is not one of my favorites... there was no other like her to display such a great and elegant way to wear clothes.

Her style dictated fashion so much that we can recognize it nowadays very often beacuse it is all the time renewed.

If Jackie was the muse of the lady like, the most representative designer of this style or trend for me, is Oscar de la Renta. Every season with variations he surprises with collections that always have the same feeling, that make us recall those years and the class that they had.

Hitchcock made with his films a strong fusion between cinema and fashion. He picked the most beautiful and fashion actresses of his time and made them his muses. He had an enormous taste for beauty and he showed show interest in fashion. The Birds
| Grace Kelly, Rear Window | Grace Kelly, with Jackie kennedy and Marilyn Monroe were the 3 women of the moment. Grace's beauty was so much every outfit she wore had to look outstanding. Her style was always spotless and glamorous, however she always was very serene.

If Grace was quite but loud in terms of fashion, Marilyn was loud and louder. She made her curved body her best ally. The pencil skirt did not fit better in another body. Women wanted to look as sexy and fashion as she and men wanted to have her.

This look was underlined and spread due to the launch of Mad Men, an american television series about the american lifestyle in the 60s, set in an advertising office located in Madison avenue (NY city). It is a perfect depiction of how society has changing in that Era. I really encourage you to watch it, the first episodes would probably don not tell you anything but then I am sure you will become addicted.

New shapes were developed apart from the one above. The new look from Dior caused a sensation, it propose narrowed waist and voluminous skirts. The trousers were also very fashionable in those days since in the 40's hollywood stars made them trendy, they were more women that feel actually very feminine in them.

If a character in a series has been the ladylike muse lately, that has been Charlotte York in Sex and the city. Interpreting that woman of traditional values, searching for the love of her life and always being polite and sensible, she has been the role model for many girls.

Ladylike in the cutting edge fashion, the silhouette is the same (kind of of an 8), the modifications are in different fabrics combinations, another variation is that the neck keeps getting wider, and sometimes the shirt shorter. Belts connotes even more the little waist.
