HATS AND HANDS (MEN)

wonderland magazine
Photographer:daniel king
Model: Sean o'pry
Styling editor: Bruce Pask

As you might have seen, i am not very much into menswear, and so i have to reckon i don't post as much as i should. However I found this pictures and thought they have this masculine look I am in love with. The trick is to combine avant-garde garments, with old fashion shapes, colours and items. I hope you like not only the guy (who is one of the most handsome models at the moment) but the photo shoot as well.

Artistic feeling.

I  have been lately feeling like this.
Its all foggy, it is blurred but clearly it creates a unique mood. the pastels colours are interlaced with one another, like talking, sharing a secret, or trying to come with a solution. It gives me hope of the days are going to come, as well as melancholy, for the days in the past... It is marvelously beautifull indeed.

This Jil sander outfit is the piece of art translated to a garment.
The light fabric moving all around the body recreates perfectly the mood of it, as the strong colours gives positivism.

TRANSPARENCIES

Carlos Miele

After all the mini dresses and mini skirts, after all the minimalism in fashion of the uncountable tinny tinny garments, the spring summer fashion have called for transparencies. Chiffon, organza, all the transparent fabrics have been present in the SS 2011 catwalk.
In order to wear this trend in the street, please be aware that showing to much skin is tacky, so put the see-through fabric cleverly, you don't want them to know all your secrets at once.

DON'T SHOW TOO MUCH
Helmut Newton, Brescia
(I am sorry to put this picture of Helmut Newton, he is one of my favourites photographer, but this picture is quite graphic.)

To show you this feeling of discomfort that sensitive men and women feel, no better example that this part from the movie "the Graduate" (1967), by the way I strongly recommend you this movie.

Here more examples of the transparency is going to dominate the summer.

Today's look

Get the look of Arizona Muse

Yesterday while I was searching images for another project, I found Arizona Muse, one of my favourites models with this look. What I like about it is the simplicity it has, everyone is able to do it.
I also find beautiful the combination of this 80's eyebrows style which provides masculinity, with the 40's-50's hairstyle that tells what a woman you are.

KATTACA and TAKASHI MURAKAMI

The japanese Takashi Murakami, and his sculpture "Flower Matango" enters in one of the most representatives western symbols, the Chateau Of Versailles.

The bright vivid coloured flowers look amazing in between all the gold and the pastels colours
The Optimistc daisies are welcome in the versailles rococo opulance walls.

...They create a unique mood...

In the same line of this contrasting bright and soft colours

FASHION = 时尚

Vogue China
in this month May, 2o11 has show to the world
"GRAPHIC PLAY"
The battle between Stripes, Polka dots and Houndstooth check is here:

The photographer: Patrick Demarchelier
The model: Karlie Kloss
The stylist: nicoletta santoto
the make up artist: Lucia pica
The hair stylist: Shon

If you consider there isn't much going on, I'm sorry to have to tell you, you are wrong.
This photo shoot is soooo interesting and powerful! It goes for a minimal look, based on the 3 ever lasting kind of woven fabrics:
the houndstooth check, the polka dots and of course, the stripes.
I would rather say the gingham is missing, but anyways...

White background to emphasize the importance of the style,
movement to underline the qualities of the fabric
natural make up to be discrete under the supremacy of the garments
and a modern hair cut to set down that this fabrics will never look out of fashion.

ANDREA KLARIN MUSIC

Thursdays are the new fridays, so.....
I thought you might want to get already in the mood

Watch this music inspired, Andrea Klarin pictures, while listening to this song...

Andrea klarin, yugoslavian born photographer is one of the most talented of his guild, he has worked for  all the big fashion houses of the moment, and also for the well known  magazines ( I don't want to start naming them, because i will have no end).
His work has both the artistic feeling of capturing an instant and also the immortality of the polished beauty.
