HORROR VACUI

Tired of people telling me I should open my own blog, with the new year i have found somehow the courage to finally do it. I must admit that what really scared me was to deal with technologies, but at the end, it has not been so difficult. However, the tricky part is what I am doing right here.
There are plenty of subjects to choose from to make a good start, why have I picked "horror vacui"? well the answer is quite simple, is what i feel now.

horror vacui (literally: fear of empty spaces, perhaps represented by white spaces, also known as cenophobia)

Artists whenever they face the idea of making up a new project from nothing, the horror vacui comes and makes  them nervous and confused. I think this happens because for just one moment they feel inexpert, the immensity of what a blank space, sheet or room represent is too big for any person. All the endless possibilities that any project has, cause chaos.
As a respond to this "empty space"  some artists react in the opposite way, they fill every little space with as many colours, volumes, and textures as they can. Using all those possibilities and leaving no space for imagination, their art pieces seem to be like explosions, which leave us breathless and exhausted.
This year for spring and summer, fashion brands as Alexander Mc Queen, Antonio Marras, Custo ( a loyal devotee) and Marc Jacobs among others, have experimented this horror vacui, and make it reborn into something totally new.
