KASIA by TOM CRAIG

See through top and Pencil skirt
Fur overgarment and flower pattern dress
 White cloak with a bow
 Open half calf tweed skirt
 Red lady like, pleated volumes
 Feminine Gangster look
Baby Collar and Over knee socks
 Red and Tartan
 Yellow, and purple
two colours present this winter, and that are about to become stars for next season.

I have found this fashion-shoot that contains most of the fashion trends for this winter. An elegant and ladylike 60's mood, in a rustic big house  in the middle of nowhere, this photo-shoot was photographed by Tom Craig.
The model Kasia Struss look grandiosely gorgeous with a Grace Kelly´s look, (also Betty Draper´s look if you are a Mad men fan like me).

THE RUFF

Millstone Ruff 1615-1635
One of the main features from the sixteenth century fashion comes to this fall september. The ruff is the outstanding neck, made by nicely and rounded folds of linen, silk or cotton (normally silk). It was a way to give importance to the faces and at the same time conceal as much skin as possible. It evolved from a small into huge collar, so huge that by the end of the century looked like a tray with a head served on it.
Spain was the originator country, but in those days fashion was one of the most relevant things so the monarchies through all Europe took it and made it theirs, in some sort of different ways.

Juana de Austria, late S.XVI
Last December Russian Vogue, took this sixteenth century style and presented in a modern photo-shoot where Ashley Smith was the model and Sharif Hamza the photographer.

For this Autumn/winter not just one, many designers have joined this trend, here some of them I have selected. For very obvious and white ruffs, just as before, to smaller ones and different colours. Any garment or outfit can have it, from a shirt to a dress, a casual look or a very severe or smart one...
everything match the ruff.

Putting a bow, or a collar under the ruff (specially if what you choose is black) can be a great idea to underline this old fashion trend.

BLACK LACE

Again Lace and broderies, but instead of a white palette, black is the tone used to display this amazing fabric. Sometimes used in the whole outfit, and sometimes just as applications or a way to decorate some parts.
Watch out because some these dresses may be just for the show as they show all the lingerie underneath, and is not very wearable. Giles, Dior, Ungaro, Tahari, Dinigan, Lapore, Valentino and Ricci are some of the designers that have promoted this trend.
