Kate Middleton chose Sarah Burton (the successor of Alexander Mc Queen) to make her dress. The result: Amazing, she combined the kate's plain style, based on the simplicity of the garments, with the ideal of a princess' bride dress which has to be spectacular and elegant.
She builded up a very nice dress with wide volume at the bottom made by adding pleats from the waist line, and a nicely and structured strapless top, covered by a long-sleeve lace layer, which is indispensable to enter in Westminster church. If something was missing it's a longer tail dress, but that's the only shortcoming.
