I don't know if it is just me, but I perceive more and more red-headed lately.

Gingers and reddish hair girls in general have not been ever preferred over blondies and brunettes in general. However with some beautiful red headed celebrities this concept is changing and now they are able to be told they are gorgeous.

 Red hair is not common at all, specially in some countries, so instead of thinking that they are a bit weird, why we don't replace the word for others to be"special" or "exceptional"?
